This ministry was birthed out from a couple ladies that were hungry for a ministry to teach about the Holy Spirit In 1954. In August of 1957, The Peoples Church was incorporated as a 501 C (3) tax exempt, non- denominational church. Property was purchased on Pipe Street consisting of 3 Lots where the semi colonial structure would be built. Pastor Ollie and Helen were the original Pastors with a strong prophetic anointing. Since that time there were two other pastors that had pastored the church over the years. Pastor Bob Proy and Pastor Barbara Tippett from Africa. In 1999 Pastor Barbara had resigned and Pastor Darrell became the Senior Pastor and is the current Pastor along with Lisa Gant.
This ministry name was changed to Eagles Nest Church International in 2001. The Lord was bringing the different ethnic backgrounds together to worship as one in the same congregation. Truly the Lord has carried this ministry on Eagles Wings. There is a strong anointing of worship and the presence of Jesus that we experience when we meet! Along with this ministry being a Holy Ghost filled church with a prophetic voice. So come and worship with us and experience the love of God and the presence of the Lord.
Therefore, we have accepted the following Statement of Fundamental Truths:
Section 1. The Scriptures Inspired. The Bible is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God to man, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and is superior to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason. (II Timothy 3:15, 16; I Peter 2:2)
Section 2. The One True God. The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent, self-revealed "I AM" and has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association, i.e., Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:26; Isaiah 43:10, 11; Matthew 28:19)
Section 3. Man, His Fall and Redemption. Man was created good and upright, for God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness." But man, by voluntary transgression, fell and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ the Son of God. (Romans 5:12-21)
Section 4. The Salvation of Man
a. Conditions to Salvation. The grace of God which bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men through the preaching of repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ; man is saved by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost; and being justified by grace through faith he becomes an heir of God according to the hope of eternal life. (Titus 2:11; Romans 10:13-15; John 3:3; Titus 3:4-7)
b. The Evidence of Salvation. The "inward" evidence to the believer of his salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit. (Romans 8:16) The "outward" evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness.
Section 5. Baptism in Water. The ordinance of Baptism by a burial with Christ should be observed as commanded in the Scriptures by all who have repented and in their hearts have truly believed in Christ as Savior and Lord. In doing so, they have their body washed in pure water as an outward symbol of cleansing, while their hearts have already been sprinkled with the Blood of Christ as inner cleansing. Thus, they declared to the world that they have died with Jesus and they have also been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47; Romans 6:4; Acts 20:21; Hebrews 10:22)
Section 6. The Lord's Supper. The Lord's Supper, consisting of the elements of bread and fruit of the vine is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ (II Peter 1:4); a memorial of His suffering and death (I Corinthians 11:20); a prophecy of His second coming (I Corinthians 11:26); and is enjoined on all believers "until He comes."
Section 7. The Promise of the Father. All believers are entitled to, should ardently expect, and earnestly seek, the promise of the Father, and the Baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of all in the early Christian Church. With it comes the endowment of power for life and service, the besetment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the Ministry. (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4, 8; I Corinthians 12:1-31)
Section 8. The Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Ghost. The Baptism of believers in the Holy Ghost is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives them utterance (Acts 2:4). The speaking in tongues in this instance is the same in essence as the gift of tongues (I Corinthians 12:4-10; 12:28) but different in purpose and use.
Section 9. Entire Sanctification. The Scriptures teach a life of holiness without which no man shall see the Lord. By the power of the Holy Ghost we are able to obey the command, "Be ye holy, for I am holy." Entire sanctification is the will of God for all believers and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to God's Word. (Hebrews 12:14; I Peter 1:15, 16; I Thessalonians 5:23, 24; I John 2:6)
Section 10. The Church. The Church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Sprit with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great commission. Each believer born of the Spirit is an integral part of the Church of the First-born, who are written in heaven. (Ephesians 1:22, 23; 2:22; Hebrews 12:23)
Section 11. The Ministry and Evangelism
a. Divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for a twofold purpose:
1. The evangelization of the world.
2. The edifying of the body of Christ. (Mark 16:15-20; Ephesians 4:11-13)
Section 12. Divine Healing. Deliverance from sickness is provided by the atonement and is the privilege of all believers. (Isaiah 53:4, 5; Matthew 8:16, 17)
Section 13. The Blessed Hope. The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation, together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord, is the imminent and blessed hope of the church. (Titus 2:13; I Thessalonians 4:16, 17; I Corinthians 15:51, 52; Romans 8:23).
Section 14. The Millennial Reign of Jesus. The revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ from heaven, the salvation of national Israel, and the millennial reign of Christ on earth is the scriptural promise and the world's hope. (I Thessalonians 1:17; Revelation 19:11-14; Romans 11:26, 27; Revelation 20:1-7)
Section 15. The Lake of Fire. The devil and his angels, the beast and false prophet, and whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life shall be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone which is the second death. (Revelation 19:20; 20: 10-15)
Section 16. The New Heavens and New Earth. We, "according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness." (II Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:22)
Section 17. Tithes and Offerings. The basis for blessing the church financially is through the tithes and offerings of its members. (Malachi 3:7-15; I Corinthians 15:51; 16:4; II Corinthians 8, 9:6-15)
Section 18. Total Prosperity.
a. Spiritual. (John 3:3 & 11; II Corinthians 5:17-21; Romans 10:9-10)
b. Mental. (II Timothy 1:7; Romans 12:2; Isaiah 26:3)
c. Physical. (Isaiah 53:4 & 5; Matthew 8:17; I Peter 2:24)
d. Financial. III John 1:2; Malachi 3:10 & 11; Luke 6:38; II Corinthians 9:6-10; Deuteronomy 28:1-14)
Darrell R. Gant was born and raised in the city of Sandusky, Ohio. He received a vision in a dream from the Lord at the age of eight years old. Though he didn’t understand it then, he had another encounter with the Lord while in college at Heidelberg in Tiffin, OH. At the age of twenty-two, he heard the voice of the Lord tell him he may not get another chance to receive salvation. Shocked by what the Lord told him, he immediately ran down the aisle of the church and gave his life to the Lord. He then began to recall the vision as a child and the encounter in college and that started his journey in following Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour.
Darrell always loved people and was no stranger to anyone. He was filled with the Holy Ghost on July 25, 1988, a day He will never forget at a Kenneth Hagin Summer Bible Conference in Tulsa, OK. Ten years later the Lord spoke to him to venture into a church where he knew no one into a totally different ethnic background.
After debating with the Lord, he surrendered and was obedient to his leading and became the assistant pastor of The Peoples Church, which started in 1954. He was ordained with Calvary Ministries International in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and then later joined Creflo Dollar Ministerial Fellowship where he found his parents in ministry, Pastors Tony and Cynthia Brazelton of Victory Christian Fellowship International in Suitland, Maryland. He was ordained with Covenant Connection International under the Brazeltons' Ministry.
In 1999, Darrell Gant became the senior pastor and the name was changed to Eagles Nest Church International. Pastor Darrell is also a musician who is part of the praise and worship team. In addition to this, he volunteers at the juvenile detention center, prisons, hospice centers, and partakes in other community endeavors. He loves the water, playing chess, and being outdoors.
